The human brain is far from static. Subtle changes may occur, for example if a neurological disease is progressing. In that case, early detection of those subtle changes in a quantitative way is key.  But even for healthy brains, studying brain dynamics may give insight in how our brain is evolving due to different conditions. For example, how does the brain of astronauts that spend months in space adapt to its new environment? How does learning work? What does Alzheimer’s of Parkinson’s disease do to the brain? Imec Vision Lab develops quantitative methods to visualize, and analyze these subtle changes to help understanding the fascinating neuro-development of the human brain.
